We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Manufacturing Engineer to support our global product supply chain with engineering change management, technical drawing, 3D modeling, and communication with suppliers. The successful candidate will have experience with Solidworks, Product Lifecycle Management, sheet metal and plastics design for manufacturing, supplier quality evaluation, and contract manufacturing.

Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Welding Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent position in the manufacturing industry where you will be tasked with the responsibility of designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving welding applications. You will also be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of welding work is achieved and that it meets all the relevant safety and technical standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to production staff and troubleshoot welding related issues.
  • Design and implement new welding processes or improve existing ones to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Conduct research and development activities to improve welding techniques, procedures, and applications.
  • Perform welding procedure and welder performance qualifications in accordance with required codes and standards.
  • Develop and implement welding standards and procedures to guide production and welding personnel in the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure the manufacturability of new designs and improve production processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on advanced welding techniques and technologies.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to establish quality standards and specifications, and to ensure these standards are met.
  • Utilize CAD software to design and optimize welding fixtures and tooling.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Operate and program robotic and laser welding machines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with robotic and laser welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification would be an advantage.
