We are seeking a Controller to join our Accounting and Finance team. This exciting role will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of our accounting department, ensuring the highest level of financial integrity and compliance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and AICPA reporting requirements, and will be adept at navigating the complexities of the mortgage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their skills and expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other relevant regulations.
• Leverage your mortgage industry experience to drive financial success and stability.
• Establish, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures that meet organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
• Scale the accounting department to support the growth and evolution of the organization.
• Utilize your knowledge of loan origination, mortgage servicing rights, warehouse lending, secondary market transactions, and FHA compliance to enhance financial performance and mitigate risk.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the accounting and finance industry.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and AICPA reporting requirements, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, credit losses, financial services accounting, and derivatives and hedging.
• Experience in the mortgage industry highly preferred.
• Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred, with knowledge of loan origination, mortgage servicing rights, warehouse lending, secondary market transactions, quality control, and FHA compliance.
• Proven ability to establish and implement effective accounting policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling an accounting department.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
