Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Head of Operations to oversee warehouse, delivery, installation, and logistics operations across two locations. This individual will serve as the senior operational leader over existing managers and will be responsible for creating consistency, accountability, and operational excellence across both markets.

This is not a maintenance role. The organization is actively rebuilding portions of its operation, and the successful candidate must be comfortable stepping into an environment where every process may not yet be perfectly defined. We are looking for someone who can assess what is working, identify what needs improvement, develop the team, and build the structure necessary for long-term success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight across warehouse, delivery, installation, and logistics operations in both markets
  • Lead and develop existing warehouse, delivery, and installation managers
  • Oversee appliance and parts inventory, including inbound and outbound product movement
  • Ensure efficient delivery routing, scheduling, and installation coordination
  • Manage driver operations and support effective workforce scheduling
  • Address damages, callbacks, service issues, and situations requiring crews to return to customer locations
  • Establish stronger operational processes, accountability, and performance standards
  • Identify training needs and ensure managers and frontline employees have the tools needed to succeed
  • Maintain awareness of DOT requirements, CDL-related operations, driver safety, and applicable compliance requirements
  • Utilize technology and operational data to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making
  • Partner with leadership to identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions
  • Build stronger communication and collaboration between locations and operational teams
  • Help recruit, retain, coach, and develop strong operational talent
  • Remain actively involved during the initial stabilization and rebuilding of the operation

What We're Looking For:
  • Significant leadership experience within logistics, distribution, warehouse, delivery, transportation, or a related operational environment
  • Experience leading managers and overseeing multiple operational functions or locations
  • Strong understanding of warehouse and inventory operations
  • Experience with delivery routing, driver management, transportation, or last-mile logistics
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, CDL-related requirements, driver safety, and operational compliance
  • Strong technology skills and comfort learning and utilizing operational systems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop managers and improve team performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead employees with different personalities, experience levels, and management needs
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and processes may evolve
  • Proven ability to bring structure to complex or underdeveloped operations
  • Comfortable being hands-on and highly engaged during periods of operational change
  • Willingness to travel between the Hampton Roads and Richmond markets, currently approximately once per week with occasional additional travel during the rebuilding period
